SLU’s Workforce Center Prepares Professionals for Tomorrow’s Technology
Companies Turn to Saint Louis University to Train Their Teams
ST. LOUIS, MO – In today’s tight labor market, companies are increasingly looking to keep their best people doing their best work. That means investing in their teams’ professional skill development.
Saint Louis University’s Workforce Center provides premier training solutions to corporations and individuals worldwide. The Center offers short courses, certification boot camps and SLU certificates to keep professionals up-to-date.
“We are here to train the modern professional,” said executive director Katherine Cain. “Employers invest in their technology with new hardware and software. We help them maximize their investment by training their No. 1 asset – their people.”
Cain said when the Center opened 10 years ago, instructors were teaching traditional skills in Microsoft and project management.
“Marketplace demands have evolved in the past decade, and so have we,” Cain said. “Cybersecurity, Cloud and Software Engineering courses are now among our most popular.”
The Center also offers courses in Project Management, Agile, Analytics and Leadership. It has grown to be a leading training provider to up-skill, on-board and certify employees with its live online, instructor-led learning environment and program offerings.
The Workforce Center also works with state-funded programs, including Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Fast Track.
Instructors in the Workforce Center are subject-matter experts working in the field of study they are teaching, allowing students to learn from first-hand, real-world experience and examples. The skills learned in a course can be immediately applied to one’s day-to-day job.
The Workforce Center meets students and corporations where they are and partners to achieve their objectives. Employers can collaborate with the Center’s Corporate Relations team to create custom programs for their team’s unique training needs. Courses are regularly reviewed to ensure they are cutting-edge and meet the needs of the marketplace.
