Join AARP California for Happy Hollow Park & Zoo’s Senior Safari series and enjoy a day at the zoo. This program is designed to help older adults improve their health, avoid social isolation, and enjoy a unique environment that stimulates both mind and body. Senior Safari admission and parking are free for those ages 50-plus that arrive before 10 a.m. PT (the park opens to seniors at 9 a.m. PT), and guests are welcome to stay for the day after gates open to the public. Book Talk: A Caregiving Conversation with Dave Iverson – Oakland, CA (November 4 | 10:30 a.m. – Noon PT)
Join AARP California for a caregiving conversation and author chat with Dave Iverson. Iverson is a writer, documentary film producer/director and retired KQED broadcast journalist. His new memoir Winter Stars: An Elderly Mother, an Aging Son and Lifeʼs Final Journey tells the story of the 10-year caregiving odyssey he shared with his mom until her passing at the age of 105.
