TO restore and preserve crucial documents, a team of interns from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) has developed a document repository webpage for the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) as their final output in their internship at the agency.
DoST Region 2 led by regional director Virginia Bilgera said the output was "a remarkable display of talent and innovation" by the team of interns from USLT, achieving a significant milestone.
It said this achievement exemplifies the immense potential and dedication of the next generation of professionals.

The five USLT interns were Danica Joy Tejano, Niņo Israel Pajarillo, Darwin Rey Miguel, Kian Ross Clark Macamos and Church Chill Parco, who worked under the office of the DoST regional director and supervised by Raquel Santos, a science research specialist of the agency.
"The webpage has been specifically designed to streamline the management and accessibility of DoST's future essential official documents and incoming communications. This repository ensures secure and efficient storage of documents for special orders, travel orders, memorandum orders and office orders," DoST Region 2 stated.
It added that the webpage offers convenient features such as document uploads, email transmission, transaction tracing and file viewing.
Praising the interns' ingenuity and initiative, Bilgera said the interns who utilized their knowledge as computer science majors worked consistently for months to design and develop the webpage.
She said the webpage provides each document's creation, review, approval, and dissemination status; allows authorized users to access uploaded documents immediately; and categorizes documents by kind or other relevant qualities.
"Others, specifically those in computer science and engineering, must emulate this type of internship accomplishment," Bilgera said.
The DoST Region 2 said this impressive accomplishment of the USLT intern team emphasizes the power of mentorship and collaboration and the value of internships in developing future professionals.
Known as an exceptional agency for internship opportunities, DoST is imbued with its strong commitment to promoting science and technology or S&T innovations and supporting the development of young minds from different partner institutions while providing an enriching and valuable experience for interns.
With this, the DoST Region 2 as of 2023 has approved 26 interns from state and private universities, nine from the Cagayan State University-Carig campus, one from the University of the Philippines-Baguio, four from Isabela State University-Cabagan campus, four from Isabela State University-Roxas campus, including three STEM immersants from Gosi National High School.
